The Bowline
Club Whittley Queensland was founded on 21 August 1996 following a most enjoyable and enlightening Whittley Rally arranged by Northside Marine at Sanctuary Cove.
One aspect of these Sanctuary Cove Rallies has been the opportunity to meet the Whittley Family, Jim, the founder, and his sons Neville and Steven, who generously spend time speaking with everyone, becoming familiar with our local conditions and learning how we enjoy our Whittleys in Queensland.
Buoyed with the success of the inaugural Whittley Rally, the Club Whittley Queensland Committee have arranged many day, weekend and extended outings at anchorages extending from Caloundra to the Marine Stadium, Southport, with an added trip to the Whitsundays and Hervey Bay.
The aim of this unique club has been to give members not only the opportunity to meet in a relaxed social atmosphere and enhouy our beautiful natural environment but also to:
- Forge new friendships
- Enhance our knowledge of our waterways
- Participate in club events
- Exchange general boating hints and ideas
Club Whittley Qld was incorporate in August 1998 and at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show 2000 enjoyed a membership of 98 Whittley boats.
A regular newsletter keeps club members up to date with all relevant news regarding their boats, reports on past and future outings, and gives helpful hints.
